HARP Habilitation (HAB) & CORE Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR)
HARP Habilitation (HAB) and CORE Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) are essential services provided by KIGI to help participants improve their ability to live independently in the community while living a productive life. Both services focus on addressing the participant’s strengths and weaknesses in performing Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL), with the goal of enhancing self-care, communication skills, and overall independence.
The HAB/PSR provider conducts a comprehensive functional assessment of the participant’s abilities, which serves as the foundation for developing a personalized goal plan. This plan outlines the necessary steps to achieve the participant’s goals, taking into account their learning styles and responses to interventions. These plans are developed every 6 months or sooner as
needed.
HAB/PSR Services Include:
- Assessment, Training, and Supervision related to:
- Self-care
- Problem-solving skills
- Money management
- Socialization and communication skills
- Household management
- Community transportation skills
- Reducing maladaptive behaviors
HAB/PSR services are designed to be provided in real-world settings, ensuring that participants can apply the skills they learn directly to their daily lives. These services are meant to meet people where they are at and help improve skills overtime. The services can be provided in the community or in the person’s home. Hab services are working on skills that someone had but lost the skill. PSR is for improving skills one already has. For example, HAB may include tasks like budgeting and meal preparation at home, while PSR might involve community-based activities such as grocery shopping or taking public transportation.
The ultimate goal is to empower participants to live as independently and productive as possible, tailoring services to their evolving needs and preferences.
*We also assist with adult educational supports, job search, resume writing, interviewing skills, and follow-along support to ensure participants are performing well in their employment.*
